...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...
* Location...Northern Connecticut, Northwest Rhode Island, and
interior portions of eastern Massachusetts.
* Heat Index Values...In the upper 90s due to temperatures between
85 and 90, and dewpoints in the mid 70s.
* Timing...from 11 AM this morning to 5 PM this afternoon.
* Impacts...Potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly
in children and the elderly.
Instructions: A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
