The station is powered by a Davis VP2 weather station.
The data is collected every 2 seconds and the site is updated every 1-5 minutes.
This site and its data is collected using Meteobridge.
The station is located at the MA/RI line and is comprised of an anemometer 30' above the ground, a rain gauge, and a thermo-hygro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
Woonsocket Weather has been online since June 2008. It started out with an Oregon Scientific WR-968, which ran until 2015. Since then, everything was updated to the Davis Vantage Pro2. At that time the sensors were relocated about 50' to the west, which is a better location. Software has also evolved over that time. I started out using Weather Display on a windoze PC. In 2012 I changed to WeatherCat. Mostly because was frustrated using windoze and switched to using my iMac. In 2017, I switched to Meteobridge, which is a small TP-Link TL-MR3020 router. I no longer need to keep a PC running 24/7.
